I’m Ethan Barnowsky — an animator, illustrator, director, and I am the creator of Moonlighters, a Chicago film/animation festival celebrating artists’ off-the-clock projects.

I make bold, playful work for film + tv + the internet — music videos, idents, branding, murals, and other fun things, for clients like Google, Hallmark, McDonald's, HBO, Car & Driver, Brookfield Zoo, Diplo, Dillon Francis, and Templin Family Brewing.

After years in the city of Chicago, I now live in the woods outside Ann Arbor, Michigan with my wife, three boys, and two cats — where most days involve chasing kids, gardening, running, and making art. I like good beer, coffee, ramen, and comedy.
